Everyday tips

My mask is leaking

Check the fit, connections, and cushion before tightening the straps.

Sources checked October 18, 2026

Check these three things

  • Make sure the cushion, frame, tubing, and connectors are assembled as the mask guide shows.
  • With the device running, lie in your usual sleeping position and gently reseat the cushion.
  • Adjust the headgear a little at a time. If tightening causes pain or makes the seal worse, stop and ask for a fitting review.

A vent is not a leak

Masks intentionally release some air through their vents. Never cover or block those openings. Air escaping around the cushion, especially into your eyes, needs a different check.

If the leak returns

Check for cushion wear and note whether the leak starts when you turn over. Medigy can help with mask and fitting questions; your clinician can assess therapy concerns.
